PubGene products are built around data-mining systems that search through millions of scientific papers for the names of genes and proteins, sequence homologues, mutations, diseases, pathways and processes. PubGene extracts literature and sequence homology information from such databases as Medline, RefSeq, and PIR. Since PubGene uses in-house dictionaries of gene and protein synonym names, it gives the user full information about all synonyms within a single search, saving hours that are necessary for manual lookup.

PubGene Public allows any visitor to search with a gene name or keyword and view search results as graphic networks connecting genes and keywords. This is a public service provided free of charge.

PubGene Analysis Online When combined with results of microarray analysis, the system will highlight various relationships between genes and proteins and their relationships to various diseases, cell processes and functions, or pathways utilizing the complete digital biological knowledge contained in Medline.
